Collegiate Shag
Bunny Hop

Basic-Intermediate Track

This track is for you if you have taken weekly classes or attended several Collegiate Shag workshops.

You should feel confident in the basic 6-count rhythm, double-kick- & side-by-side- basic and know basic moves such as pass-by & tuck-turns.

This track is for you if you want to get comfortable dancing to faster tempos and learn new moves and variations as well as musicality.

Comfort zone: 160 - 190 bpm


Camel Hop

Intermediate-Advanced / Advanced Track

Pre-requisite: you master everyting mentioned in the previous level, plus:

This track is for you if you have taken weekly lessons for at least 1 year and/or attended Collegiate Shag workshops on a regular basis.

You feel very confident with basic footwork, moves and transitions but you want to get to the next level.

You want work on basics and technique, expand your repertoire of moves, learn more variations and work on transitions and flow between moves.

Comfort zone: 180 - 210 bpm

Balboa
Swivel Maniac

Basic-Intermediate Track

You take weekly lessons or attend Balboa workshops on a regular basis and you go out for social Balboa dancing.

You have been dancing Balboa for about 1-2 years

You know Pure-Bal and Bal-Swing.

You master the following steps & techniques: Down-hold and up-hold basic step (also kown as single und double time basic); Side-steps und paddle-turns; Come-around & Toss/throw-out (and variations thereof, such as left/right hand, texas tommy); Lolly kicks & Swivels (with entry & exit); Out & Ins and cross-overs

Comfort zone: 170 - 200 bpm

Shuffle Master

Intermediate-Advanced / Advanced Track

Pre-requisite: you master everyting mentioned in the previous level, plus:

You have been dancing Balboa for 2 or more years and you participate in (international) Balboa Workshops on a regular basis.

You feel very confident in your Pure-Bal basic and know multiple variations such as drags, crab-walks, shuffles, etc.

You feel very confident in Bal-Swing moves and variations of Lolly kicks, turns, throw/toss-outs, texas tommy and rhythm variations in Out & Ins.

This track is for you, if your focus does not lie in new moves but in the improvement of quality of movement and flow.

You enjoy working on fine details of shuffle variations, connection and rhythms

Comfort zone: 190 - 220 bpm
